Abstract
The article discusses the impact of the Israel/Hamas war on gas supplies in Egypt. Israel ordered the closure of the Chevron-operated Tamar offshore gas field, leading to domestic gas shortages in Egypt during a heat wave. This closure also affected Egypt's ability to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) this winter. The conflict could also pose a threat to Israeli oil imports. The article highlights the challenges faced by Egypt in meeting domestic cooling demand, as well as the potential impact on LNG exports to Europe. It also mentions the potential risks to Israeli oil supply and the possibility of higher oil prices if the conflict spreads. [Extracted from the article]
