Abstract
The article focuses on the financial performance of French energy supplier Engie SA, which reported a 19% decline in first-half profit due to lower prices, reduced market volatility, and decreased nuclear and hydropower generation. Net recurring income fell to €3.1 billion, influenced by the shutdown of the Doel 1 reactor in Belgium and weaker hydro output in France. Despite these challenges, Engie is investing in renewable energy projects and has formed a joint venture with the Belgian government to operate two remaining reactors for an additional ten years. The company maintains its full-year targets, anticipating a recovery in earnings in the second half of the year. [Extracted from the article]
