Abstract

Williams Cos. has announced that it will begin construction on its Louisiana Energy Gateway natural gas pipeline in the coming weeks. The project, which will transport gas from the Haynesville Shale basin to the Gulf Coast, has faced delays due to legal disputes with Energy Transfer LP. Williams stated that construction would already be underway if not for the lawsuits. Energy Transfer, which owns a key stretch of gas lines in East Texas and Louisiana, is looking to expand its Gulf Run system to meet the growing demand for gas along Louisiana's coast.
