Abstract
The article focuses on Toyota Motor Corp.'s record global sales during the first half of the fiscal year, driven by strong demand in the US, despite challenges in Japan and China. In September, Toyota's global sales, including subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd., rose nearly 3% to 949,153 units, while production increased by 9% to 1,036,106 units. The company experienced a decline in sales in China and Japan but saw a significant increase of over 14% in the US, largely attributed to the popularity of gas-electric hybrids. Meanwhile, competitors Honda Motor Co. and Nissan Motor Co. reported declines in their global sales during the same period. [Extracted from the article]
