Abstract

The article focuses on the Denmark Strait cataract, the tallest recorded waterfall on Earth, which is located underwater between Iceland and Greenland. This underwater waterfall is formed by the rapid sinking of cold, dense water from the Nordic Seas meeting warmer waters from the Irminger Sea, flowing over a cliff that drops about 3.5 kilometers (11,500 feet). The cataract is incredibly powerful, with approximately 3.5 million cubic meters (123 million cubic feet) of water flowing over the edge every second. The article also briefly mentions notable waterfalls on land, such as Niagara Falls, and highlights unique human-made and optical illusion waterfalls. [Extracted from the article]
