Abstract
Google has partnered with a Nevada utility and a geothermal energy startup to power its data centers with electricity generated from geothermal sources. Fervo Energy will develop a geothermal power plant that will supply 115 megawatts of electricity to NV Energy, which will then sell it to Google. Geothermal plants have the advantage of operating continuously and producing electricity with no carbon emissions. This move is part of Google's goal to run entirely on carbon-free energy by 2030.
