Abstract

Russia has increased its gas production by 8.2% in the first half of the year to meet higher export and local demand. The country produced 345.8 billion cubic meters of gas, including both natural gas and associated gas output. Gazprom PJSC, the largest gas producer in Russia, has increased pipeline supplies to major foreign markets, including China and various European countries. Gas flows to China via the Power of Siberia link increased by over 39% compared to the previous year, while pipeline flows to European clients spiked by more than a quarter. Russia has also raised shipments of liquefied natural gas to foreign markets. Additionally, domestic gas consumption in Russia has increased as the country expanded its domestic network to provide more households and facilities with access to gas. [Extracted from the article]
