Abstract

Oman is seeking private investments from major energy companies like BP, Shell, and TotalEnergies to secure its next liquefied natural gas production facility. The government aims to increase gas exports to improve its finances, but future projects must be financially viable without state funds. Companies that can supply gas to the plant will be eligible to take an equity stake in Oman's fourth LNG train, which would increase the nation's production capacity to 15.2 million tons a year. Oman, the second-largest LNG exporter in the Middle East, is conducting a study for a 3.8-million-ton-per-year train near existing facilities in Qalhat. [Extracted from the article]
