Abstract

EDF Renewables North America has secured a 20-year Energy Storage Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Arizona Public Service (APS) for the Beehive Battery Energy Storage System in Peoria, Arizona. The stand-alone battery energy storage system will have a capacity of 250 MW/4-hour duration and is expected to start construction in 2025. The project aims to store electricity from the power grid during peak renewable energy hours and release it back during peak consumption times, contributing to APS's energy and capacity demand management. EDF Renewables North America is a leading independent power producer with expertise in renewable energy, including wind, solar, and storage projects. [Extracted from the article]
