Abstract
Kenya is in discussions with Sahara Group Ltd., a Nigerian energy firm, to jointly construct a 30,000-ton facility for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage and bottling. The project, which will be located in the port city of Mombasa, is expected to take two years to complete and will be financed by Asharami Synergy Plc, a subsidiary of Sahara Group. The facility aims to help Kenya achieve universal access to clean cooking energy by 2030, as over 90% of rural households in the country currently rely on biomass fuels. President William Ruto is also seeking to increase LPG usage in Kenya. [Extracted from the article]
