Abstract
The article examines the potential role of color schemes in areas of intimacy as a management intervention for sexual dysfunction, focusing on the psychological factors influencing sexual health. A systematic review found limited scientific data directly linking color to sexual performance, but some studies suggest color can affect psychological wellness, which may indirectly impact sexual function. Notably, a Japanese initiative using blue lighting in train stations correlated with an 84% decrease in suicides, and a Swiss prison study found that painting walls a specific shade of pink, termed "Cool Down Pink," reduced inmate aggression. The authors propose that incorporating calming colors like blue in intimate spaces might reduce stress and anxiety, potentially improving sexual dysfunction, and recommend further research on this topic.
