Abstract

This article focuses on the adaptation and validation of the Thanatophobia Scale-Turkish Form, a tool designed to measure fear of death among nurses. The methodological study involved 154 nurses and assessed the scale's content validity, construct validity through confirmatory factor analysis, item-total correlations, and internal consistency reliability. Results demonstrated strong content validity (index = 0.91), acceptable item-total correlations (ranging from 0.453 to 0.718), confirmation of a single-factor structure, and high internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.854). The study concludes that the Thanatophobia Scale-Turkish Form is a valid and reliable instrument for evaluating death anxiety in nurses, with recommendations for further testing in diverse samples.
