Abstract
This article focuses on research conducted by Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, People's Republic of China, examining the temporal associations between depressive symptoms, sleep problems, and psychological inflexibility in adolescents following Typhoon Lekima. Using the random-intercept cross lagged panel model (RI-CLPM) on data from 1,341 adolescents collected over three years, the study found that depressive symptoms predict increased psychological inflexibility, which in turn leads to worsened sleep problems. The findings suggest that interventions after natural disasters should prioritize reducing depressive symptoms and enhancing psychological flexibility to improve adolescent sleep health. This peer-reviewed research was supported by the National Social Science Fund of China. [Extracted from the article]
