Abstract
While acknowledging Albers's later knowledge of gestalt, once again Saletnik delves deeper into historical and cultural context to show the ways in which applied educational psychology informed Albers's pedagogy more than gestalt. Through his examination of Albers's early training, Saletnik shows how the centuries-old concept of "active learning" was already part of the curriculum Albers experienced. Graph For anyone interested in Josef Albers's teaching and creative practice, there is much to be learned from Jeffrey Saletnik's I Josef Albers Later Modernism and Pedagogic Form i .
