Abstract
This article investigates the mediating roles of parenting conflict and resilient coping in the relationship between self-oriented parental perfectionism and parental burnout among Iranian parents, including those with children who have visual impairments. Using structural equation modeling on survey data from 493 parents, the study found that self-oriented perfectionism indirectly reduces parental burnout by promoting resilient coping and decreasing parenting conflicts, with no moderating effects from parent gender or the child's visual impairment status. Additionally, younger and single parents of visually impaired children reported higher burnout levels. The findings suggest that fostering adaptive perfectionism and enhancing coping strategies and co-parenting agreement may help mitigate parental burnout, highlighting implications for culturally sensitive therapeutic interventions and support services.
