Abstract
The article focuses on the reproductive and sexual health challenges faced by young adult Black women (YABW) in the United States, highlighting the need for culturally responsive, patient-centered care to address these issues. Research indicates that YABW encounter two main types of barriers: logistical challenges, such as lack of knowledge about where to access care, and stigma-related challenges, including fear of judgment and discrimination, particularly regarding abortion and STI testing. The study emphasizes the importance of clinicians adopting strategies that promote self-efficacy, shared decision-making, and cultural competency to improve access to care. It also suggests that addressing stigma and enhancing knowledge about available services are crucial for ensuring that YABW receive high-quality reproductive healthcare.
