Abstract
This article focuses on the ongoing relevance and value of Abraham Maslow's motivational theory within psychology and education. It argues that despite criticisms and advances in motivational research, Maslow's ideas remain widely recognized and resonate with both psychologists and the general public because they address fundamental human needs and provide a useful framework for understanding motivation. The article emphasizes the importance of using Maslow’s theory as a foundational tool to introduce more contemporary theories, advocating for a balanced, constructive dialogue rather than outright dismissal. It also highlights the role of psychology in engaging society by building on familiar concepts like Maslow’s to promote broader understanding and application of psychological principles.
