Abstract

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) efforts, while critical, are under attack and at an impasse. As a result of negative and highly charged narratives, some leaders of organizations are less upfront about diversity efforts, trying to avoid the politics of DEIB as lawmakers threaten to cut resources dedicated to these initiatives. This essay argues the need for dialogic inclusive leadership bolstered by a dialogic mindset and inclusive values to advance DEIB efforts and drive progress. Leaders drive inclusion and cultivate inclusive environments where individuals feel unique and experience a sense of belonging, enabling organizations to motivate employees, cocreate shared identities, and enhance overall performance. The shift from division to partnership and shared goals is essential for creating inclusive climates where everyone can thrive. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
