Abstract

This article focuses on a study conducted in Ramat-Gan, Israel, examining factors associated with Acute Stress Disorder (ASD) among 142 soldiers hospitalized for combat-related injuries between October 2023 and December 2024. The research identified personal trauma history, combat exposure, and exposure to fatalities as significant risk factors for developing ASD, while demographic and social factors showed no significant association. The study emphasizes the need for early identification and intervention for soldiers at high risk, particularly those exposed to fatalities during combat. The findings aim to improve prevention and treatment strategies for stress disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in military personnel. [Extracted from the article]
