Abstract

The article focuses on the concept of self-actualisation, originally central to humanistic psychology through figures like Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow, and proposes a shift toward "social self-actualisation." It critiques the prevalent individualistic interpretation of self-actualisation, arguing that true fulfillment also requires actualising one's social potential through positive relationships, as supported by recent scientific research emphasizing humans as inherently social beings. The author advocates for a balanced approach that values both individual growth and social connectedness, suggesting this integrated model better addresses contemporary issues of loneliness and anxiety in modern societies.
