Abstract

This study evaluated the feasibility of using a 3-day micturition diary for children aged 5 to 14 years with enuresis, comparing it to the standard 7-day diary recommended by the International Children's Continence Society (ICCS). Among 53 children studied, the 3-day diary showed a significantly higher completion rate (86.7% vs. 54.7%) and comparable diagnostic accuracy for parameters such as small bladder volume and nocturia, though some classification details might be missed with the shorter diary. Factors positively influencing diary completion included older age and greater parental involvement, while gender and guardian education level were not significant. The findings suggest that a 3-day micturition diary is a feasible, more acceptable alternative for assessing enuresis in children, though extended recording may be needed when classification is unclear.
