Abstract

The article offers information on the genealogical method as discussed in Matthieu Queloz's book, "The Practical Origin of Ideas: Genealogy as Conceptual Reverse-Engineering" (2021). Topics include the nature of genealogy as a method for understanding the origins and development of norms, the potential for genealogies to justify or debunk existing norms, and Queloz's proposal to "reverse-engineer" concepts to relieve pressures from troubled conceptual heritages.
