Abstract
This article offers strategies for managing a colleague who constantly adopts a victim mentality. This attitude can be emotionally draining and disruptive to team morale. Suggestions for dealing with this type of employee including showing empathy, maintaining boundaries, offering solutions, and gently reframing the colleague’s narrative. The author emphasizes the importance of protecting your own energy while still being constructive and compassionate.
