Abstract

The article investigates undergraduate law students’ perceptions of the availability and use of library information resources and services in the law libraries of two federal universities in South East Nigeria: Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU) and University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC). Using a descriptive survey design with a sample of 177 law students, the study found that while students generally agreed that library resources and services were available, the extent of their utilization was low. Significant differences existed between the two universities regarding perceptions of resource availability and extent of resource use, but not in the use of library services. The study concludes that inadequate user skills and limited library support hinder effective utilization, recommending enhanced library instruction, improved access to electronic resources, and proactive librarian assistance to foster better academic outcomes.
