Abstract
Researchers at Karadeniz Technical University conducted a study on the relationship between dissociative amnesia and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD). The study found that individuals diagnosed with CPTSD tend to exhibit higher levels of dissociative symptoms than those diagnosed with PTSD. The research presented a clinical report of a 42-year-old male who developed dissociative amnesia years after a car accident, demonstrating the complexity of differentiating dissociative amnesia from organic conditions. The findings suggest that discussing shared mechanisms between CPTSD and dissociative amnesia could contribute to a better understanding of both conditions. [Extracted from the article]
