Abstract
The article focuses on synthesizing existing research on the use of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) within instructional design and training processes, employing the widely used Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. Through an integrative literature review of 71 studies, it identifies current applications of GAI across all ADDIE phases—such as needs analysis, personalized course design, content creation, tutoring, and formative evaluation—and highlights suggested future uses to enhance instructional effectiveness. The review also addresses ethical concerns including bias, misinformation, academic integrity, and privacy, emphasizing the need for responsible use, human oversight, and institutional policies. Finally, it outlines implications for further research and practice, advocating for deeper integration of GAI with learning theories, organizational goals, and collaborative learning frameworks.
