Abstract

The article focuses on a study investigating the prevalence of codependency among nurses and its relationship with family protective factors and personal characteristics. Conducted by researchers from Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkiye, the study utilized online surveys to collect data from nurses aged 18 to 65 with at least six months of experience. Findings indicated that nurses with chronic physical illnesses or those receiving mental health treatment exhibited significantly higher levels of codependency, which correlated negatively with family protective factors such as stressors and social support. The study suggests that enhancing these protective factors could help mitigate codependency issues among nurses, highlighting the need for further research on targeted interventions.
