Abstract
Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States, and it leaves behind a unique form of grief for children and adolescents who lose a parent to suicide. These survivors are at increased risk of mental health issues, including depression and suicidal ideation, and experience complex grief related to the traumatic nature of the loss. This article explores the heightened risks, protective factors, and potential interventions for supporting children and adolescents bereaved by parental suicide. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
