Abstract

This article focuses on a study conducted at Herdecke University in Witten, Germany, examining the effects of computer-based neurocognitive training (c-bnt) on soldiers with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The quasi-randomized controlled study found that while c-bnt led to modest reductions in PTSD-related avoidance symptoms and depressive symptoms, it did not significantly improve verbal or visuospatial long-term memory. The researchers suggest that c-bnt may serve as a low-threshold adjunct to trauma-focused therapy, potentially enhancing daily functioning and health in soldiers with PTSD.
