Abstract

This article focuses on a comprehensive review of psychopathy from an evolutionary psychology perspective, based on research conducted at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Psychopathy is described as a set of personality traits including affective remorselessness, interpersonal manipulativeness, and behavioral recklessness, often linked to antisocial behavior. The review synthesizes findings from approximately 100 sources to explore six evolutionary models that propose an adaptive function for psychopathy. The research aims to align evolutionary theories with contemporary psychopathy studies and promote further integration within evolutionary psychology. The study has undergone peer review and is published in the journal Evolution and Human Behavior. [Extracted from the article]
