Abstract
The article examines whether psi phenomena, including extrasensory perception (ESP) and psychokinesis (PK), serve any useful function. It notes that involuntary ESP experiences, such as telepathy or precognition, are rare, often non-interactive, and typically do not enable recipients to prevent disasters, limiting their practical usefulness. However, voluntary psi practices—such as those by trained psychics, mediums, and healers—demonstrate potential benefits, including emotional comfort, healing effects, and experimentally observed psychokinetic phenomena like object movement. The correspondence suggests further research into why some individuals access psi more readily, how psi abilities might be developed, and ways to integrate psi for positive applications in daily life.
