Abstract

This article analyzes factors that promote the specialization dimension of transactive memory systems (TMSe) among public employees in Spanish university services. It focuses on how the implementation of advanced quality management systems based on ISO 9001 standards and the support of information technologies (IT) influence TMSe, which facilitates knowledge sharing and specialization within work teams. The study finds that while basic quality management systems show no significant relationship with TMSe, advanced quality systems combined with IT support positively impact employee specialization and team performance. The research highlights the importance of sophisticated quality practices and appropriate IT tools in enhancing specialization and knowledge exchange in university service groups.
