Abstract
This article focuses on a study investigating how targeted memory reactivation (TMR) during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep can influence problem-solving through dreams. Researchers played soundtracks linked to unsolved puzzles to 20 lucid dreamers during sleep, prompting about 75% to dream of the puzzles and increasing their puzzle-solving success from 17% to 42%. The study suggests that sensory cues during REM sleep may help the brain process specific problems creatively, though effects were modest.
