Abstract

This article discusses the use of a symbol-based mnemonic called the "tumour triangle" to teach important clinical characteristics of skin cancer. The mnemonic consists of three corners representing morphology and lesion site, growth dynamics and change, and patient profile and risk factors. By using this mnemonic, teachers can enhance students' visual recognition skills and improve their ability to distinguish between benign and malignant tumors based on clinical information. The article emphasizes the importance of repeated practice and immediate feedback in developing these skills. The use of symbols can also facilitate discussions and communication among students.
