Abstract

The article focuses on a study examining the relationship between compliance without dissent and organizational deviance, based on self-determination theory and social exchange theory. Conducted in Guangdong, People's Republic of China, the research involved two studies: the first with 164 working adults and the second with 542 employees from Chinese manufacturing firms. Findings suggest that when compliance is perceived as externally regulated, it can frustrate employees' autonomy and lead to feelings of psychological entitlement, which in turn increases the likelihood of organizational deviance. The study highlights the role of communication transparency in mitigating these effects. [Extracted from the article]
