Abstract

This article summarizes recent research on leadership, marketing, employee motivation, and organizational culture relevant to business management. Key findings include that new CEOs who start in early January tend to improve firm performance, especially when they are younger, women, minorities, or outsiders; that good supervisors positively impact employee careers and productivity long after they leave; and that responding to positive customer reviews boosts revenue more than replying to negative ones. Additionally, using generative AI (gen AI) can enhance work quality but may reduce worker motivation when AI assistance is removed, while managers often give more credence to hearsay than firsthand reports in workplace disputes. The article also highlights that employees who unplug after hours are seen as more productive but less promotable, underscoring the need for company policies to align with managerial evaluations.
