Abstract
This article focuses on the investigation of leg pain, central sensitization (CS), kinesiophobia (fear of movement), and body awareness in patients with chronic venous disease (CVD). In a cross-sectional study of 98 patients diagnosed with CVD, moderate leg pain and body awareness levels were observed, with nearly half exhibiting CS positivity and elevated kinesiophobia. Central sensitization was found to correlate positively with pain severity, kinesiophobia, and body awareness, while higher body mass index (BMI) was associated with increased kinesiophobia and decreased body awareness. The findings suggest that beyond pain, the psychosocial profile and interoceptive aspects in CVD patients warrant detailed evaluation, and tailored rehabilitation strategies addressing CS, kinesiophobia, body awareness, and weight management should be developed.
