Abstract
The article focuses on the response of African health leaders, particularly Rosemary Mburu, to funding cuts in international aid that affected efforts to combat malaria, HIV, and tuberculosis. As the executive director of the Kenyan NGO WACI Health, Mburu mobilized support from African donor countries for the Global Fund and advocated for a shift in the funding model from dependency on aid to co-investment by low-income countries. This initiative reflects a growing trend of African leadership taking an active role in global health strategies. [Extracted from the article]
