Abstract
This article examines how posthumanist ideas are reflected in two 2021 Chinese animated films, *Nezha Reborn* and *Green Snake*, both adaptations of classical Chinese literature. It highlights themes such as the fusion of humans and machines into cyborgs, the separation and digitization of human consciousness, the ethical equality between humans and animals, and apocalyptic fears arising from environmental disruption. These films reinterpret traditional narratives to engage with contemporary concerns about technology’s impact on human identity, the relationship between humans and nature, and the potential consequences of artificial intelligence. The analysis situates these adaptations within the broader cultural and philosophical discourse of posthumanism, illustrating how classical stories gain new relevance amid modern technological and ecological crises.
