Abstract
The article focuses on the project of Antonio Presti, heir to a fortune gained by his father in the construction industry, to turn Librino, a suburb of Catania on the eastern coast of Sicily, Italy, into an open-air museum and depict the women living there as Madonnas, natural heirs of the Great Mother. In 2021, Presti invited photographer Lynn Johnson to take photographs of the women to be installed on the viaduct's north side. The project was unveiled in May 2025.
