Abstract
The article focuses on the theme of power and responsibility as illustrated through biblical narratives and the example of Jesus Christ. It explores how power can be misunderstood, discredited, or abused, as seen in the reactions to Jesus by his family, the story of Genesis 3 where blame is shifted, and the demand for a king in 1 Samuel 8, highlighting human tendencies to mismanage power. Jesus is presented as exercising divine power responsibly, inviting others into a community where power relationships are healthy and accountable. The article emphasizes the importance of recognizing the limits of human power, owning responsibility for one's actions, and fostering right relationships with God, oneself, and others.
