Abstract

The article focuses on Pakistan's current security challenges posed by a complex hybrid or 5th generation warfare involving Indian financial support to the Afghan Taliban, the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants operating from Afghan soil. It highlights recent violent incidents, including attacks on Pakistani military installations and diplomatic missions, and emphasizes the strategic importance of border fencing along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border to curb cross-border terrorism. The piece advocates for enhanced intelligence operations, improved law enforcement capabilities, and coordinated counter-narratives against hostile social media campaigns, while also stressing the need for internal unity and support for Pakistan's armed forces amid regional geopolitical shifts such as Saudi-Iran reconciliation. Finally, it underscores Pakistan's nuclear status as a critical deterrent and calls for decisive measures to safeguard national sovereignty against external and internal hybrid threats.
