Abstract

This article summarizes recent research on leadership, workplace dynamics, motivation, retail-brand relationships, and AI’s influence on information consumption. Key findings include that humble leadership—characterized by admitting mistakes and valuing employees—boosts staff’s leadership ambitions, especially in individualistic cultures. Workplace incivility disproportionately silences women, reducing their willingness to share ideas. Motivating employees through increasing incentives for consecutive task completion helps sustain effort on tedious or challenging work. Retailers tend to reduce orders and pay higher prices when suppliers sell directly to consumers online, with smaller retailers reacting more negatively than larger ones. Finally, search engines and generative AI tools often reinforce users’ preexisting beliefs, though presenting more diverse search results can mitigate this effect.
