Abstract
The article reviews several recent scholarly works focused on Jewish history, law, and thought. Ariel Evan Mayse's *Laws of the Spirit* examines how early Hasidism integrated mysticism, ritual, and commandments (mitzvot) into a cohesive spiritual framework, appealing mainly to academic readers. Debby Koren's *Responsa in a Historical Context* presents translated rabbinic responsa from post-expulsion Spanish-Portuguese Jewish communities, illuminating diverse legal and social challenges faced between the 16th and 17th centuries. Other highlighted works include a catalog of Hebrew manuscripts from the Braginsky Collection and the National Library of Israel, a study of medieval Jewish halachic attitudes toward Gentile wine by Haym Soloveitchik, a new translation of Maimonides' *Guide to the Perplexed*, and William Schniedewind's exploration of biblical authorship as a product of scribal communities rather than individual authors. These titles collectively contribute to understanding Jewish intellectual, legal, and cultural history across different eras.
