Abstract

The author offers insights on a study which argued how abortion restrictions may be deemed as a form of structural violence, conducted by Santaularia Gomez and colleagues and published within the issue. Topics discussed include the acknowledgment of the World Health Organization (WHO) definition for violence in the study, the impact of the concept of obstetric violence on maternal health care, and the legislative issues in the U.S. which may also impose reproductive health restrictions.
