Abstract
The article focuses on the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland, India, an annual event that unites the state’s 17 recognized tribal cultures to showcase their diverse music, dance, and crafts. Held in Kisama’s Naga Heritage Village near Kohima, the festival features traditional performances in communal houses called morungs, including distinctive tribal instruments like the log drum and Kachari bamboo flutes. Alongside indigenous acts, the festival incorporates contemporary Indian rock bands and international performers, aiming to promote Naga culture both nationally and globally. The event serves as a significant cultural and tourism project, providing a rare opportunity to experience Nagaland’s tribal heritage in a vibrant, accessible setting.
