Abstract
This article focuses on the development of an online distance education platform designed to teach the surgical anatomy of the equine locomotor apparatus, addressing challenges in veterinary anatomy education such as limited classroom time, high costs, and restricted access to animal cadavers. The platform integrates anatomical dissections, diagnostic imaging, surgical videos, theoretical materials, and an interactive radiological anatomy tool to support veterinary students and professionals in equine surgery training. Hosted at https://www.anatomiacxequino.com/, the resource offers modules on general anatomy, surgical procedures, and radiological anatomy, supplemented by self-assessment tests, and aims to complement but not replace practical training. The platform responds to the increased need for online educational tools highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the reported deficiencies in anatomical knowledge among recent veterinary graduates.
