Abstract
Chronologically, Schwertfeger's starting point is the promotion of "Germandom" ( I Deutschtum i ) in Danzig, which is then linked to Stutthof as a local camp with predominantly local prisoners. In her original book I A Nazi Camp Near Danzig i , Ruth Schwertfeger presents the first English-language monograph on the Stutthof camp in the wider context of its nearest city, Danzig/Gda'nsk. Stutthof's history, especially in the context of Danzig, has thus far not been researched in comprehensive fashion; it fills the lacuna of English-language Stutthof-related publications.
