Abstract
The article focuses on the role of Black church leaders in advocating for peace and justice in the context of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, particularly following the outbreak of violence in October 2023. These leaders have historically supported human rights causes and have been vocal in condemning the violence and calling for a ceasefire, urging U.S. political leaders to take action. A coalition of over 1,000 Black pastors criticized the Biden administration's response to the conflict, while prominent denominations like the African Methodist Episcopal Church labeled Israel's military actions as "mass genocide." The article highlights the influence of Black church leaders in shaping public discourse around the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and their commitment to advocating for the dignity and humanity of all affected individuals.
