Abstract
This article examines the correlation between chronic conditions and job absenteeism among healthcare administrative employees at King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC) in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. A cross-sectional study of 225 employees with chronic conditions found significant negative relationships between chronic heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome, severe anemia, chronic fatigue, high blood pressure or hypertension, and employee working hours, indicating increased absenteeism associated with these conditions. No significant differences in absenteeism were observed between male and female employees. The study recommends employer interventions and workplace health and wellness programs to address chronic conditions, aiming to reduce absenteeism and improve productivity.
